apples 'n danaus plexippus

Recently i attended to a Cientific Illustration Course, carried by the Butterfly House of the National Museum of Natural History of Lisbon and oriented by a portuguese cientific illustrator, Diana Marques.
The apples were the result of a couple of initial exercises.
For the final work, i choosed the Monarch butterfly (danaus plexippus) and its respective caterpillar.

Late in the afternoon, we went to a beach in Sintra, called "Praia da Adraga".

A group of young girls that remained on the beach at that hour.

S. Jerónimo

lisboa, 14.07.12 (ux02)

Today i made a stop to get to know the hermitage of St. Jerónimo, in Lisbon, and I started a new sketchbook i made some time ago. I didn't know what to expect from the paper (plain sketching paper, 80 grams) with water, but it worked pretty well.

I made this quick sketches in a visit to "Parque da Madre de Deus", in Lisbon. Sitted on a small coffee shop, I watched some of the petanque games happening in the park. I didn't draw the players, but the quiet audience.

Last week has been like hell and this week appears to be like my father's soup - a confusion!
