apples 'n danaus plexippus

Recently i attended to a Cientific Illustration Course, carried by the Butterfly House of the National Museum of Natural History of Lisbon and oriented by a portuguese cientific illustrator, Diana Marques.
The apples were the result of a couple of initial exercises.
For the final work, i choosed the Monarch butterfly (danaus plexippus) and its respective caterpillar.

my favorite is the caterpillar. nice attention to detail, and looseness on the leaves.

Hello! I just found your blog via Ale's "With Blueberry heart". I like very much your watercolours - so light and tender! Looking through the posts I noticed that you mention Lisbon... Are you a Portuguese?? A month ago I attended the Grimm conference there and fell in love with Portugal! If you are interested in my impressions, you could see the two posts about my stay there...
